Is Ai Changing Our Lives? Will It Replace Humans?

Mario Alberto López Cano, Deputy Director Of Artificial Intelligence, Grupo Financiero Banorte

Society has witnessed an unprecedented technological revolution led by artificial intelligence that is committed to substantially changing everything we know today about health and work. Its increasingly accelerated development has generated a dilemma. Defining the concept of artificial intelligence is extremely ambiguous. Replicating human behavior? How possible or impossible can it be?

Artificial intelligence is an innovative, powerful, and versatile tool that drives radical changes and is present in all areas. It allows you to automate different processes that have made it easier to meet your needs without occupying a human. Providing cognitive functions to a machine like that of people is possible thanks to the new generative models that have been implemented. Looking for new alternatives, patterns in neural networks, and improving the processes that have an impact within Grupo Financiero Banorte.

One of my main functions as vice principal of artificial intelligence services at Banorte Financial Group is to look for new trends and functionalities to develop according to the needs of the company. Verify and certify that the implemented cognitive model has a neural calibration and robust training, always seeking the best experience for our users.

All this has been thanks to two fundamental subfields of AI, machine learning and deep learning. Machine learning involves teaching machines to learn patterns from data, allowing them to make predictions and decisions based on those patterns.

Deep learning, in turn, uses artificial neural networks to analyze data hierarchically and abstractly, which has led to significant advances in areas such as natural language processing and recognition of objects, images, etc.

Models based on natural language processing and generative artificial intelligence can create anything you imagine, from text to video to AI-generated images. In the context of NLMs, it focuses on generating text content that is consistent and indistinguishable from that created by humans. In the architecture of these models, the development of the decoder is very important. This generative capacity, since it allows the model to generate natural continuations from an input, is as natural as a human would; also, all these advances allow us to continue perfecting the way we interact with our customers. Currently, we are able to serve other channels that were not previously available; although it has not yet replaced human functionality, today, it has managed to optimize many of the processes in any industry.

Models Based On Natural Language Processing And Generative Artificial Intelligence Can Create Anything You Imagine, From Text To Video To Ai Generated Images

But certainly, AI will be very far from being able to replace a human; we will always need fundamental aspects that characterize humans:

    • Comprehension

    • Empathy

    • Creativity

    • Innovation

    • Moral Judgment

    • Relationships

    • Among others

In conclusion, artificial intelligence is revolutionizing society in ways that we only saw in movies before, but the more we continue to explore new solutions, there are needs to cover in this digital age. AI will always be developing and innovating technology giving us tangible benefits for all industries, businesses, and personal life; little by little, we have integrated artificial intelligence into our lives, and it certainly makes our daily activities easier.
